The segment of high-end housing in the so-called Golden Triangle –which includes the municipalities of Marbella, Estepona and Benahavís-, generates a business volume that exceeds “500 million euros, some 3,500 direct jobs and around 9,500 indirect jobs ”, according to a study prepared by the ‘Association of employers for high quality housing DOM3’.

Thus, the president of the group, Laura Pou, highlighted this Friday that the analysis arises from extrapolating the data corresponding to about thirty entrepreneurs who form the real estate association, and that currently generates “a stable direct employment of more than a thousand people and more of 3,500 indirect ”, as well as this sector of economic activity has produced in the last year in the aforementioned area“ a business volume of more than 200 million euros ”. Likewise, it is estimated that there are around 120 units of villas or promotions considered as high-end.

Therefore, the real estate representative has considered that these data “show that high-end housing has emerged as a powerful business activity and immune to the crisis, and that it continues to be a benchmark economic engine on the western Costa del Sol.”

The president of DOM3 has indicated that in this area there are no traditional industries to use, but there is a very powerful one such as high-end residential tourism. “This sector generates a considerable number of jobs and is also sustainable in the broadest sense of the word.”

In line with this, he has defended that “sustainable is maintaining the balance in the area where we are, taking care of the environment and the landscape” or quality tourism and the enjoyment of those who come to the Costa del Sol, of which He assured that “most of the time he repeats and in a high percentage he decides to stay and live here with us.”
